BOLD wear

*IMG_9970Garter belongs to the intimate category. With the new garter leggings in trend, I have given myself a bit of the challenge to give these leggings a try! It’s definitely something I wouldn’t dare to wear back in the days. Who knew it could be worn as a fashion statement nowadays. Garter leggings give off such a sexy, feminine look that I had to pair it with my booties. I wanted to change the public’s eyes that garters aren’t just something you would see in an intimate magazine. Put on those booties and you sure look tough! Do you guys think I nailed it? Comment below, and let me know your thoughts! Don’t be afraid to conquer anything, bring out that confidence in yourself! Remember no one can do it, but you.*IMG_0046

The Power of Papaya

Photography Laurina Wong

Good sources of vitamins A, C, E, K, folate, potassium, beta-carotene, antioxidants, dietary fiber.

When I first ate papaya, I was told it has many great benefits to cure morning sickness and menstrual irregularities. I, then, found out that it wasn’t just a fruit beneficial for women, it was a fruit with powerful enzymes that cures intestinal problems, constipation, high cholesterols, liver cancer and kidney disorder, low immunity and acne problems..

Papaya contains powerful enzymes papain and chymopapain. These enzymes are protein digestive enzymes that break down foods in the intestine. Try eating a papaya next time if you get an upset stomach!

Lowering Cholesterol Levels

For those who have high cholesterol levels, this is one of those fruits for you. Dietary fibers lower your cholesterols! When we don’t consume enough soluble fibers, bile (a liquid substance) is reabsorbed into the intestine and back to the blood stream. This causes a build up of toxins in our body, which leads to inflammatory disease, gallbladder/inflammation diseases and acne problems. However, when fibers enter the body, bile (from the liver) gets secreted to the intestine breaking down the food. When this happens, to compensate the bile loss, the liver produces new bile. And bile is made from cholesterol, therefore the more fibers you eat the more bile is excreted, lowering your cholesterol levels!

You hear a lot of people saying antioxidants are good for anti-aging. But have you ever wondered how it works? I am going to go very technical so bare with me. When weak bonds in a molecule split, free radicals are formed resulting in an unpaired electron. Free radicals are usually formed due to radiation, pollution, herbicides, smokes, metabolism, immune system.. Antioxidants prevent free radicals (unpaired electrons) to start a chain reaction damaging cells and tissue. This reaction is like dominos. Having vitamins E, C, A, beta-carotene in your foods can terminate the reaction of free radicals by replacing the unpaired electron.

Natural Glow

If you feel like your skin is breaking out or if you want a natural glow, try applying papaya on your face with aloe vera. Papain helps dissolve dead skin cells resulting in natural beautiful skin. Papain also works well with acne, infection wounds and clogged pores. It is definitely a very affordable remedy for your face!

Remember to..

Stay hearty.
